Solid Thoughts to Keep the Nippers Diverted for Days

Big Foot Relay. Get the children add two shoeboxes with them. Tape the lids onto the corners, then cut a one-inch-wide and four-inch long slit in every top. Get the contestants slip their feet into the slits in the boxes and race.

Frisbee Tower. Purchase a bunch of mini Frisbees and place them in a pile in the centre of the yard. Have the guests carve up the Frisbees among themselves. The first player begins the action by setting one of his or her Frisbees on the earth. Each of the following players places his or her Frisbee on upper of the first Frisbee, and the activity proceeds until someone causes the growing tower to topple.

Pick Pocket Tag. Put a strip of cloth in each player’s back pocket. Have the players try to grab each other’s strips without having their own strip taken. The player with the most cloth strips wins the game.

Blind Snakes. Set up a figure of sprinklers in between a starting line and a finish line. Have the tikes try to run from one end to the other without getting sprayed. Have one of the kids command the faucet, turning it on and off at random. Present ribbons to the tikes who play the lengthiest without getting wet.
