Smart and Easy Meal Planning Recipes

The trick to creating an easy meal plan is having great recipes that work over and over again. Even better, recipes that yield food for multiple meals are smart and time-saving. Add several of these methods to create long-term meal planning recipes.

Try meal planning recipes by cooking a large cut of beef and serve beef roast for the first dinner of the week. Thinly slice half of the leftover meat to make roast beef sandwiches with horseradish spread in a couple days. Finally, cut the remaining bit of beef in to small chunks. Toss in to a pot of beef broth with vegetables and barley for a hearty soup.

Good meal planning recipes turn out multiple meals. This saves aggravation trying to come up with unique recipes for every single meal. Plan to cook larger quantities of two or three staple foods and spread eating it over several meal times. You can do this with vegetables, beans and grains as well as meat.

For example, cook up a batch of garbanzo beans until they are soft. Use part of the beans to make falafel patties served in pita bread with shredded lettuce, chopped tomato and onion and topped with tahini. Use another part of the beans to garnish a tossed salad. Freeze a portion of the garbanzos to add to vegetable soup at a later date. Complete this meal planning recipe extravaganza by making a bowl of hummus for a party appetizer.

Release your creativity with meal planning recipes that are tasty served in two, three or four different meals.
